In a tight tilt between the Newark Flyers and the St. Catharines Blue Jays, Ryan Huber was the deciding factor. The Newark left-hander spearheaded the 3-1 win. In 5.1 innings, Huber surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The Flyers go to 38-37, putting them 4th in the Northern A East Division.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Flyers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the fourth, when first baseman Brad Reynolds hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Mike Richert and made the score 2-1, Flyers. Reynolds went 1 for 4.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said St. Catharines skipper Freddy Coss, "and it cost us."
