Miners Send Fremont Home with 3-0 Loss
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Glace Bay Miners and the Fremont Ambassadors, Aaron Tanguay was the X factor. The Glace Bay right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Cory Crabtree was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 12 of 16 save opportunities. The win gives Glace Bay a season record of 55-21.
The Miners got a big at-bat from first baseman Willie Rodriguez. For the game, Rodriguez went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 11th home run of the season gave Glace Bay a 2-0 lead.
Glace Bay manager Carlos Acevedo commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
