St. Catharines Blue Jays left-hander Marty Carpenter pitched a good game against the Huntsville Rockets at Engineers Ballpark, leading his team to victory, 2-1. The winner in relief was Jay Yeiser. He is now 2-1. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. With the win, the Blue Jays sit at 50-27.

St. Catharines took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Thomas Hardy hit a clutch solo home run to bring Blue Jays fans to their feet.

"Marty gave us a heck of an effort," said St. Catharines manager Walt DeRosier.
