Mortenson Now 8-2 After Subduing Rockets
|
Greg Mortenson, who is tied for 8th in the N-A in strikeouts with 94, had a strong outing for the St. Catharines Blue Jays against the Huntsville Rockets at Engineers Ballpark. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-1 win. Mike Dineen got credit for the save for St. Catharines. It was his 18th of the year. The win puts St. Catharines at 49-26 this season.
Mortenson earned the win, going 8 strong innings for St. Catharines. The native of Carlinville, Illinois, allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 7. Huntsville hitters did next to nothing against the right-hander.
"I was just trying to execute one pitch at a time," said Mortenson.
