The Kansas City Dust Devils did just enough to sneak past the Newark Flyers, 5-4, at Kansas City Grounds. Kansas City pitcher Jimmy Miano, in particular, had a standout performance. Kansas City pitcher Frank Stroud got the win, upping his record to 2-2. Chris Schreurs got the loss. Etienne Erbetto closed it out for Kansas City, earning his 8th save.

Kansas City took a 5-4 lead on Kevin Cimini's 15th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Cimini hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Newark pitcher Chris Schreurs visibly frustrated.

"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Cimini.

The Dust Devils now own a record of 37-37.
