Though he had a terrific game, Mickey Michael could not prevent his team, the Santa Rosa Desperados, from absorbing a loss. St. Catharines won the game, 5-4. Michael was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win belonged to Randy Nitchals in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Chris Erickson took the loss for Santa Rosa. St. Catharines is now 45-29, while Santa Rosa is 30-44.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for St. Catharines. That's when Lyle Blakesley hit a 2-run double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Chris Erickson to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

Blakesley described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
