Modell goes 3-for-4, Leads Blue Jays to Win
St. Catharines shortstop Tom Modell was instrumental in helping the Blue Jays triumph, 8-1, over the Santa Rosa Desperados. Modell was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Andy Mahoney earned the save, his 2nd. The win for the Blue Jays raised their record to 44-29.

St. Catharines got a big at-bat from Ft. Wayne, Indiana native Jay Kowalski, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a 2-run triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said St. Catharines manager Freddy Coss.
