Tampa Rallies to 2-0 Win
|
The San Antonio Stallions wasted an inspired, 7.1-inning effort from starter Sean Gary, falling, 2-0, to the Tampa Capitals at Alamo Field. The winner in relief was Bobby Montijo. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Getting the save was Gabe Thomas, his 15th.
Mickey Brown had a direct impact on the outcome. Brown contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth inning to put Tampa up, 1-0.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Brown.
By defeating San Antonio, the 5th-place Capitals improved to 40-32.
