The St. Catharines Blue Jays grabbed a win, 9-3, over the Tampa Capitals at Capitals Ballpark. St. Catharines left fielder Mike Odendahl went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Fabian Ruiz earned the win to go to 8-2. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work. Bobby Hardy locked down his 1st save.

Ed Montes de Oca had a big 2-run home run for the Blue Jays in the top of the second inning. With St. Catharines leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Melvin Mendoza and swatted a home run to right. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0.

"This is a very good team," said Montes de Oca. "We have the chance to do something special."
