The St. Catharines Blue Jays clobbered the Deltaville Deltas, 12-3, at Engineers Ballpark. St. Catharines shortstop John Fitz led the onslaught. He was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The last-place Deltas dropped to 21-49.

With St. Catharines leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Fitz came up to bat against Deltaville pitcher Oscar Zuniga. Fitz hit a fastball to right for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Blue Jays on top, 6-1.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said St. Catharines skipper Walt DeRosier.
