Rogers Centre was the site of a tense game between the St. Catharines Blue Jays and Deltaville Deltas.

The St. Catharines Blue Jays got a sterling performance from pitcher Bobby Pfau, but the Deltaville Deltas still prevailed, 2-1. Pfau threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The save was credited to Logan Penny, his 4th.

Deltaville took a 2-1 lead on Jonathan Avenell's 16th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Avenell hit in the bottom of the eighth, left St. Catharines pitcher Andy Mahoney visibly frustrated.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Freddy Coss.

Deltaville goes to 31-38, St. Catharines to 32-37.
