The Flyers grabbed a win, 4-2, at Newark Fields, overcoming a fine effort from Fremont pitcher Jorge Torres. Torres went 6.2 innings and allowed 4 runs. Mike Crain picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. On the season, he is now 1-4. Ryan Larkins wrapped it up, recording his 11th save.

Newark took a 4-2 lead on Edwin Arroyo's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Arroyo hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Fremont pitcher Jorge Torres visibly frustrated.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Arroyo said.
