Ambassadors Get Hard-Earned Win
|
The Fremont Ambassadors stopped the Kansas City Dust Devils, 3-2, behind an impressive performance from Gregg Cuevas. The 24-year old right fielder made life miserable for Kansas City pitching. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. Fremont, with the win, sits at 21-45.
Fremont used the clutch hitting of Tim Miller to snag the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Ambassadors ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a crucial one.
In postgame comments to the Fremont Chronicle, Cuevas said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
