Jamal Jones was terrific for the Santa Rosa Desperados in his team's 2-1 triumph over the Glace Bay Miners. His performance earned Jones rave reviews. Jones, now 1-0, was the winner. Josh Mahan hit a solo home run off Joaquin Palacios in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Desperados ahead, 2-1. In addition to the homer, Mahan had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.
