The Huntsville Rockets and Glace Bay Miners riveted fans at Miners Memorial Bowl.

The Glace Bay Miners withstood an impressive performance by Huntsville designated hitter Brad Bull to defeat the Rockets, 8-3, at Miners Memorial Bowl. Bull went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Josh Parrish, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 9. His record now stands at 6-2. Alvaro Salas notched his 1st save of the season.

Jim Kaufman had a big 2-run double for the Miners in the bottom of the second inning. With Glace Bay leading 4-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Robert Hendricks, who is tied for 8th in the N-A in holds with 3, and swatted a double to center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Miners ahead, 6-3.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Glace Bay skipper Angel Cano.

Glace Bay is now 39-23, Huntsville 31-31.
