Rockets Come Up Short at St. Catharines, 2-1
|
The St. Catharines Blue Jays earned a win at Engineers Ballpark, knocking off the Huntsville Rockets, 2-1. On the bump for St. Catharines was right-hander Bobby Pfau. He had a starring role in the triumph. In 6 innings, Pfau surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. The Blue Jays are now 29-33.
Donall Reed cracked a home run off Eric Mohr in the bottom of the first. His 2-run blast put the Blue Jays on top, 2-0. In all, Reed had 2 singles in addition to the home run, while going 3 for 4.
"Bobby was throwing strikes, locating well," said St. Catharines manager Freddy Coss.
