Kansas City Reeling, as Skid Hits 8 Games
|
Starting Pitcher Armando Tamayo was lights out, as the Huntsville Rockets beat the Kansas City Dust Devils, 3-1. Tamayo picked up the win for Huntsville, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Jeremy Dawson sewed up the save, his 6th.
The Rockets got a big at-bat from shortstop Tom Tofel. For the game, Tofel went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Huntsville a 2-0 lead.
"Armando's a gamer," said Huntsville manager Tim Hodgson. "Glad he's on our side."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Rockets.
