Grand Rapids Beats Santa Rosa, 4-2

The Grand Rapids Jet Hawks and Santa Rosa Desperados played an exciting game.
Grand Rapids turned a good performance from starting pitcher Ben Wiggins into a 4-2 triumph over the Santa Rosa Desperados at Keelhaulers Ballpark. Grand Rapids reliever Satoshi Nishiyama picked up the win, upping his record to 8-1. Dusty Garrow was saddled with the loss. Trevor Hill earned the save for Grand Rapids, his 3rd of the year.
Grand Rapids used the timely hitting of Bobby Spross to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Jet Hawks on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Santa Rosa skipper Angel Cano, "and it cost us."
With the win, Grand Rapids has a record of 39-23. Santa Rosa falls to 25-37.
