The Glace Bay Miners topped the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks, 9-3, with center fielder Leo Almodovar playing a big role. Almodovar was 2-5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Miners in the win. The defeat makes Grand Rapids 36-23.

Glace Bay shortstop Danny Rodriguez contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the eighth. With two down, he hit a curveball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 10th hit of the season and put the Miners ahead, 5-3.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Almodovar.
