Rockets Win, Martinez 3-for-3

A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Huntsville Rockets and Kansas City Dust Devils.
The Huntsville Rockets powered past the Kansas City Dust Devils, 8-4, at Ballpark of Austin. Ricky Martinez provided some of the pop. He went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Huntsville reliever Jimmy Lyles got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Ron Todd was tagged with the loss. Earning his 2nd save for Huntsville was Mike Watts.
With Huntsville trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Martinez hit a knuckle curve from John Pritt for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Rockets ahead, 4-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Martinez. "And not try to do too much."
The Rockets now own a record of 29-30.
