Blue Jays Pull Off Thrilling 5-3 Win in Extras
|
The St. Catharines Blue Jays picked up a win at Alamo Field, knocking off the San Antonio Stallions, 5-3. Starting pitcher Travis Anderson was a big reason why. Chase Harriger, now 3-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. St. Catharines has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
St. Catharines used the timely hitting of Kevin Capitano to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Capitano said.
