The Newark Flyers picked up a win at Newark Fields, knocking off the Kansas City Dust Devils, 2-1. Starting pitcher Adam Noland was a big reason why. Mike Driskell, who is tied for 10th in the N-A in holds with 3, was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Gabe Ortega. The save went to Dustin Miller, number 9 for him.
Tim Schnupp aided the Newark cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop went 2-2 with 2 singles.
"We were in it," said Kansas City manager Jaden White. "We just didn't score enough runs."
Newark is in 4th place in the Northern A East Division with a record of 22-30.
