The home team gave their fans plenty to cheer about, with a thrilling walk-off win.

The Huntsville Rockets used a stellar performance from pitcher Jimmy Redmond to throttle the Newark offense en route to an extra-inning, 2-1 win at Ballpark of Austin. Huntsville reliever Jeremy Dawson picked up the win, raising his record to 2-2. Keith Bader was tagged with the loss.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Huntsville. That's when Ron Eckhardt hit a solo home run off 26-year old left-handed pitcher Keith Bader to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"The other side played a good game," said Newark manager Carlos Almendarez. "You tip your cap to them."

Huntsville, at 29-23, sits in second place in the Northern A West Division.
