Flyers Get One-Run Win at St. Catharines
|
In a tight contest between the Newark Flyers and the St. Catharines Blue Jays, Jason Gaiser was the determining factor. The Newark right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Gaiser, now 6-2. He tossed 5 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 6 and fanning 3. Keith Jong earned the save for Newark, his 5th.
Justin Bobb, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2021 draft, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bobb contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Newark up, 2-0.
"Every loss hurts," said St. Catharines manager Freddy Coss. "But this was a tough one."
