The St. Catharines Blue Jays beat the Tampa Capitals, 7-2, at Engineers Ballpark. St. Catharines first baseman Jay Kowalski had an outstanding performance. He was 3-4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. St. Catharines, at 30-18, is 2½ games up in the Northern A West Division.
With the game tied, 2-2, in the bottom of the fifth, Kowalski had a key at-bat for St. Catharines. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Kowalski hit a run-scoring single off Cristofer Sanchez, making the score 3-2, Blue Jays.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Kowalski told the St. Catharines Bulletin.
