Glace Bay registered a win at Newark Fields by beating the Newark Flyers, 4-2. Pitcher Bubba Byrne was one reason why the Miners triumphed. Glace Bay has won 8 straight, while Newark has lost 3 in a row.
Joe Gillis cracked a home run off Chris Schreurs in the top of the seventh. His solo blast put the Miners on top, 3-2. In all, Gillis had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
