Miners Reel Off Another Win
The Glace Bay Miners topped the Newark Flyers, 3-0, in Northern A action at Newark Fields. The standout performance belonged to Glace Bay pitcher and Beachwood, New Jersey, native Larry Weese. Matt Westerman got the save, the 3rd for him this season. With the win, the Miners hiked their record to 37-11.

Glace Bay used a well-timed hit by Craig Carson to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Miners ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Weese.
