Dust Devils Topple Cannonballers, 5-1, as Perry Shines
|
The Kansas City Dust Devils defeated the Cottage City Cannonballers by the score of 5-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Nate Perry. Perry went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Dust Devils on the day. Kansas City is now 25-24, Cottage City 14-35.
Had Perry not come through in the top of the ninth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Perry hit a grand slam home run. The Dust Devils took the lead, 5-1, and never looked back.
Perry called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
