Blue Jays Handled by Fremont, 5-4
|
The St. Catharines Blue Jays got a sterling performance from pitcher Mario Hernandez, but the Fremont Ambassadors still prevailed, 5-4. Hernandez threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Nick Chinn earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Jared Hall was credited with the save for Fremont, his 2nd of the season.
Ian Klemp, the Fremont second baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 5-4, Ambassadors. For the game, Klemp went 1 for 3. He drove in 3 runs.
"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Klemp told the Fremont Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."
After today's action, Fremont sits at 19-27; St. Catharines slips to 17-29.
