Santa Rosa and St. Catharines got after it at Engineers Ballpark.
The Santa Rosa Desperados trumped the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 7-4, at Engineers Ballpark. Santa Rosa shortstop Josh Meeker was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Rodney Caporn earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record is now 4-1. Getting the save was Shissho Matsuno, his 5th.
Joe West, who is tied for 10th in the N-A in stolen bases with 7, aided the Santa Rosa cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder went 1-4.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said West.
The current losing streak for St. Catharines has reached 4 games.
