Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Santa Rosa Desperados and St. Catharines Blue Jays.
The Santa Rosa Desperados picked up a win at Keelhaulers Ballpark, knocking off the St. Catharines Blue Jays, 4-1. Starting pitcher Bill Blom was a big reason why. In 6.1 innings, Blom surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed no runs.
The Desperados got a big at-bat from shortstop Jessie Cable. For the game, Cable was 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Santa Rosa a 2-0 lead.
