Miners Get Clutch Win Versus Huntsville
The Glace Bay Miners racked up a win at Miners Memorial Park, bumping off the Huntsville Rockets, 3-2. Luis Cortez, who started for Glace Bay, pitched effectively for his team. Glace Bay reliever Dan Rank was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Jason McCoart took the loss. The first-place Miners have won 7 consecutive games.

The Miners got a clutch hit from right fielder Ray Geltz. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Miners.

"Luis is good at sticking to his strengths," said Glace Bay manager Carlos Acevedo.
