Led by Joe Scharf, the Glace Bay Miners defeated the San Antonio Stallions, 5-4. Scharf, a native of Cutler Ridge, Florida, went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Miners. The win belonged to Chris Payton in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Gil Backos took the loss for San Antonio. Glace Bay now has a record of 23-17 with the win.
Early in the game, Scharf had a 3-run home run for Glace Bay. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Miners on top, 3-0.
