Hardy Leads Blue Jays to Win
Thanks in large part to left fielder Thomas Hardy, the St. Catharines Blue Jays beat the Newark Flyers, 9-4. Hardy was 2-4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. The winning pitcher was Cesar Escobedo. He tossed 113 pitches over 8.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The first-place Blue Jays have a one-game lead in their division.

In the bottom of the eighth, the Blue Jays grabbed the lead when Hardy hit his 1st triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple off Chris Cowles made it 7-4, St. Catharines.
