Miners Lose By a Run at Tampa
|
The Tampa Capitals defeated the Glace Bay Miners, 3-2, in Northern A action at Capitals Ballpark. Tampa pitcher Ruben Moralez had a standout performance. Luke Lodge picked up his 6th save of the season. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for Tampa.
The Capitals got a big at-bat from second baseman Scott Jones. For the game, Jones was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Tampa a 3-2 lead.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Glace Bay manager Angel Cano. "The effort was great."
