Cottage City Draws Blanks Against Valentin
The Cottage City Cannonballers were almost helpless in their 15-0 loss to the Glace Bay Miners and hurler Omar Valentin. Valentin kept the Cannonballers confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Valentin," Cottage City manager said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 22-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Valentin said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

This year, Valentin has compiled a 2-1 record with a 4.05 ERA.
