Flyers Claim Late Win

Though the conditions were not ideal, the Newark Flyers and Santa Rosa Desperados came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Newark Flyers got a magnificent performance from pitcher Dusty Milligan, who muffled the Santa Rosa offense en route to a tight, 2-0 Flyers win at Newark Fields. Jason Gaiser earned the save, his 8th.
The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Chris Hambright came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Santa Rosa pitcher Idhma Kodandarami, he hit a 0-2 changeup for a run-scoring double. It was a game-changer, putting Newark on top, 1-0.
Said losing manager Justin Watts: "We've got to find a way to push a run across."
Newark is now 23-9, Santa Rosa 19-13.
