Newark Fields was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Newark Flyers and Santa Rosa Desperados.

In a low-scoring contest between the Newark Flyers and the Santa Rosa Desperados, Fabian Ruiz was the X factor. The Newark right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Newark reliever Jason Gaiser picked up the win, raising his record to 3-1. Jason Hiner was tagged with the loss.

The decisive blow was delivered by Alex Ochoa in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Jason Hiner to win the game for Newark. The home crowd went nuts.

"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Ochoa said.

Santa Rosa's current losing streak is now 4 games.
