Flyers Get Clutch 5-2 Win
The Newark Flyers electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.

Newark Flyers starter Jason Gaiser took the mound against the Cottage City Cannonballers at Newark Fields; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 5-2 win. The winner in relief was Keith Jong. He is now 3-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings.

Newark got a clutch hit from Ben Shafer. The left fielder launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the 11th inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Shafer.

Newark, now 21-8, has stretched its winning streak to 12 games.
