Jet Hawks Pick Up 3-1 Win Over Santa Rosa
|
Keelhaulers Ballpark was the site of a tense game between the Santa Rosa Desperados and Grand Rapids Jet Hawks.
The Grand Rapids Jet Hawks, behind a great outing from Rick Collins, who is tied for 5th in the N-A in quality starts with 4, defeated the Santa Rosa Desperados, 3-1, at Keelhaulers Ballpark. In 6.2 innings, Collins surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Marc Stephan got credit for the save for Grand Rapids. It was his 3rd of the year.
John Anderson helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he hit a full count fastball from Randy Fischer for a solo home run, to give Grand Rapids a 1-0 lead.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Grand Rapids skipper Sadayuki Nishikawa. "I can't complain."
With the win, Grand Rapids climbs to 17-11.
