Wheat 4-for-6 in Flyers Win
The Newark Flyers cruised to a win over the Tampa Capitals, 12-4, at Capitals Ballpark. Randy Wheat led the way, going 4-for-6 for Newark. Newark starter Bobby Maestas was credited with the win after throwing 98 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. Ben Cox earned the save for Newark, his 2nd.

With Newark leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Wheat hit a fastball from Glenn Yarrington for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Flyers ahead, 4-1.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Wheat told the Newark Herald. "It's as simple as that."

The win gives Newark a record of 19-9.
