Trolls Score Late to Nip Cannonballers, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Tyler Trolls and the Cottage City Cannonballers, pitcher Armando Rivera was the difference between victory and defeat. The Tyler left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-2 Trolls win. The winner was Kevin McGaha in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Israel Beristain took the loss. The Cannonballers, now 8-19, continue their inauspicious start.
Alex Alvarez was the walk-off hero for Tyler. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Trolls designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
Tyler manager Will Brewer said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
