Gangsters Drop Fleet, 3-2
|
Rodolfo Soto pitched well, but the San Diego Fleet still lost the game, falling, 3-2, to the Chicago Gangsters at The Hideout. Chicago reliever Keith Kramer picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Rodolfo Soto absorbed the loss. Despite the loss, San Diego is still 21-11.
Kevin Crouch had a big 2-run home run for the Gangsters in the bottom of the second inning. With Chicago leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from Rodolfo Soto, who is tied for 6th in the NC in innings pitched with 42.1, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Gangsters on top, 3-0.
Crouch told a Chicago Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
