Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Miners Memorial Park.

Mike Hedger led the charge as the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks defeated the Glace Bay Miners, 7-6, in 10 innings at Miners Memorial Park. Hedger, who is tied for 5th in the N-A in hits with 30, went 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. With the win, Grand Rapids is 13-11.

Grand Rapids used the timely hitting of Karl Aitcheson to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Jet Hawks on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Glace Bay manager Carlos Acevedo. "But we decided not to take it."
