Miners Earn Win with Late Rally
The Glace Bay Miners dealt the Tyler Trolls a 6-5 loss at Miners Memorial Park. Leo Cortez, who is tied for 5th in the N-A in bases on balls with 15, was the star on offense. He went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. Glace Bay reliever Bubba Byrne picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Kevin McGaha took the loss. The win moves Glace Bay to a record of 15-10.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 23-year old second baseman Charlie Longo had a chance to be the hero. Tyler pitcher Kevin McGaha wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, Longo hit a sacrifice fly. The Miners had themselves a thrilling win.

"What a buzz," said Longo after it was over.
