Newark first baseman John Mahoney had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Glace Bay Miners, 6-4. Dusty Milligan, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held Glace Bay to 2 runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Keith Bader recorded the save for Newark, his 2nd of the season.

With Newark leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Mahoney came up to bat against Glace Bay pitcher Dan Thomas. Mahoney hit a fastball to left-center for a grand slam home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Flyers on top, 5-0.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Mahoney told the Newark Gazette. "It's as simple as that."

The win moves Newark to a record of 14-7.
