Blue Jays Send Cottage City Home with 8-1 Loss
The St. Catharines Blue Jays polished off the Cottage City Cannonballers by the score of 8-1. The largest share of the credit belonged to first baseman Hugo Merino. Merino went 2-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Blue Jays. Cottage City, at 4-17, has had a dismal start to the season.

In the first inning, Merino had a 2-run double for St. Catharines. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Blue Jays on top, 2-0.

"Hugo was ready to go. Big day for him," said St. Catharines manager Freddy Coss.
