St. Catharines turned a good performance from starting pitcher Matt Lofstrom into a 3-2 triumph over the Glace Bay Miners at Miners Memorial Bowl. Jonathan Harvey earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. The save was credited to Mike Dineen, his 8th.

Jason Harrington was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for St. Catharines. With one out and the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, Harrington had a clutch at-bat. Facing Glace Bay hurler Jamal Jones, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said St. Catharines skipper Walt DeRosier. "I can't complain."

The win brings the Blue Jays to 13-7, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
