The Deltaville Deltas downed the Grand Rapids Jet Hawks, 5-1. The hitting star was right fielder Brian Martin. Martin went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs for the Deltas. The Deltas, with just their 3rd win in 15 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
Deltaville used a clutch at-bat from David Byerly to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Deltas ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Byerly.
