Chiefs Lose By a Run at Vancouver
Though he had a stellar game, Gary Draeger could not prevent his team, the Santa Fe Chiefs, from losing, 5-4, to the Vancouver Mounties. Draeger went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Paul Kreger, who finished 2nd in the NC in saves with 42 in 2018, was the winner in relief. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Efrain Gutierrez. David Pruner earned the save for Vancouver, his 2nd of the year.

Vancouver took the lead, 5-4, on Brian Massey's 3rd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Santa Fe pitcher Efrain Gutierrez in the bottom of the seventh.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Mounties manager Brian Burnett.

The victory makes Vancouver 13-18.
