Capitals Scratch Out 2-1 Win
|
The Tampa Capitals got a magnificent performance from pitcher Christian Chervenka, who muffled the St. Catharines offense en route to a tight, 2-1 Capitals win at Engineers Ballpark. The winning pitcher was Chervenka, now 2-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Luke Lodge earned save number 4 this season.
Zach Amos had a direct impact on the outcome. Amos contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put Tampa up, 1-0.
"You don't always need a lot of runs to win," said Amos. "Sometimes you need just one or two."
After losing, St. Catharines is 10-6.
