Miners Top Desperados to Even Record
The Glace Bay Miners trumped the Santa Rosa Desperados, 5-3, at Miners Memorial Bowl. Glace Bay catcher Vic Acocella was terrific. He was 1-2 with a walk. Glace Bay pitcher Jeremiah Porter got the win. He's now 1-0. Rodney Caporn was tagged with the loss. The Miners raised their record to 7-7.

Glace Bay took a 4-3 lead on Mario Aguiluz's 1st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Aguiluz hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Santa Rosa pitcher Idhma Kodandarami visibly frustrated.

Said Glace Bay manager Angel Cano: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
