Desperados 7-3 Winners Over Newark
|
At Keelhaulers Ballpark, the Newark Flyers and Santa Rosa Desperados were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Santa Rosa designated hitter Bryan Erck made his presence felt in the 7-3 Desperados triumph over the Newark Flyers. Erck went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Matt Westerman earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
Santa Rosa took the lead, 4-3, on Cesar Pereira's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Newark pitcher Kyle Sandor in the bottom of the seventh.
"I think it speaks for itself, I think we came out and we played our kind of baseball," said Pereira.
Early on, the Desperados, at 10-2, have excelled.
